A Doctor,And a Woman

Maria.
We come to her
Dazed,
Confused,
Terror down deep to our core.
With a gentle hand she takes us,
leads us,
to the start of the difficult road we must travel.
Blowing away the fog
Illuminating for us the road ahead
Bracing us for the battle to come
Maria.
We come to her as hollow vessels.
She could fill us with optimism and hope,
or resignation and despair.
She chooses hope,
and walks us,
sometimes carries us,
through the surreal world of cancer.
Maria,
Bringing healing
Strength
and Hope
with the mind of a doctor
And the heart of a woman.
