I Love You?
By Rich Reith

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I love the way your heart smiles
when I tickle your funny bone

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I like the way the sun shines through your hair

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I delight in the way you twitch before you fall
asleep

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I cherish watching you grow

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I need the trust in my love that you show

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I am touched by your love for your children

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I am awed by your respect for your parents

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I enjoy that sometimes crooked little smile

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I am tickled by the little noises you make when
you dream

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I revel in seeing your belief in yourself flourish

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I delight in your love for me

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I am humbled that you need me to need you.

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I adore how you collapse into my arms

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I am thrilled by how particular you are about
your appearance

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I relish the sparkle in your eyes
when something makes you happy

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I understand the soft tears you shed
when something makes you sad

I'm not sure that I love you, but...
I savor how proud you are to be a woman

I'm not sure that I love you,
but if loving all the parts
means you love the whole,
I guess maybe I do....
Only time will tell
