Dust to Dust
Ashes and Dust
By Rich Reith

She gazes into his deep blue eyes
Filled with fear, and filled with lies.
Unable to speak the honest truth
Of why he stole his very youth.
That concealed place buried deep inside
Filled with passion, steeped in pride.
That destroyed the good wife she wanted to be
So that lustfulness could have its spree.

She gazes into his deep blue eyes
Not understanding the depth of her lies
Praying this agony is merely a dream,
And she'll awaken, stifling a scream.
Praying he'd hold her, her fear dispel
Pulling her back from the edge of hell.
But peace cannot come when the one he trusts
Took their love to Ashes and Dust.

As he spent a life, love to refine
She splayed himself at the feet of swine.
Placing all her beauty, all her grace
In the clench of Satan's deadly embrace.
She drowned in lust as love disguised
While her love waited home not knowing why.
False honesty shown him, his only token
With her every vow cruelly broken.
